SWIFTY

I am a real swifty.  I can’t stand when girls say they are a swifty and then be blabbing about literary folklore… I have been listening to her since I was five and know every song on every album. She was my first concert, and I have seen her at Ford Field three times since. I picked her because her songs have inevitably been by my side. THE WOMAN SPEAKS TRUTH!  The best part is, she makes money just shitting on her exes. She has so much confidence and success and has stayed so humble. She can give you country, pop, calm bobs, and an AMAZING documentary.  #Teachlivingpoets

Christmas Cactus

Write about a time you put the pieces back together...literally....figuratively.  What was born?  What was leftover after?    I remember growing up my dad would always prize a Christmas cactus in our family room. It was so out of place and I never noticed it's true beauty. As a young girl, it was just like every green plant. It was his grandmother’s that he preserved for years.  Before our nightly prayer our dad would always tell us bedtime stories. Yet these weren't a fantasy , they were real life. I could probably outline my father’s whole childhood with his grandparents. We loved hearing the stories just as much as he loved telling them. He would always become so passionate and have such high respects for his grandparents.  One day when my sister and I were messing around in the house we broke the vase and the plant went everywhere. It was too delicate and too late. He was so close to crying.  Sooner than later it was replaced by not...

BUNGALOW

By far, hands down, best sounding word: Bungalow. The definition of a Bungalow is a cozy word for a specific type of house: usually one that's either a single story or two stories with a sloping roof. Though there may be additional criteria depending on where in the world you're using the term. Not only does it flow nicely, but it is so fun to say. I chose this word because it is my favorite to say and reminds me of a peaceful beach. It also makes me think of a really high dude who is really chill and native to somewhere tropical. Like when you think of those computer default backgrounds, white sand, empty beach, clear water, and boom! Cozy bungalow.  I actually have an interesting past with bungalows. I knew this word from an early age because of an obsession with the Nickelodeon show “Drake and Josh.” In the series’ christmas movie where Drake and Josh are left behind during christmas while their parents stay at a bungalow and it is so funny.  This word just makes me...

#Peak

So the blog prompt was “Relate to anything you’ve discovered while reading. It doesn’t have to be directly related to your book, it can be anything that sparks an idea. Or, if you need, share what has been on your mind this week.” But I am going to take the road about sharing what’s been on my mind this week to keep my blog interesting. I want to say on Friday Mrs. Knudson challenged us with the question “When did you peak?” I thought about it, and sophomore year came up. Man, did it make me sad. Sophomore year was so fun and I was like geez imagine peaking in high school, ESPECIALLY your sophomore year. But after getting all mopey, I realized what the pandemic did to us. I just know nobody is peaking right now, and if they are, GOOD FOR THEM. Literally going through torture right now in life and I am worried about peaking sophomore year… As much as I wish all my peers the best, sometimes I wish the worst and I go off the thought that there’s always something going on in people’...
